Primary Activity Resources
Problem-solving, reflecting and communicating are all part of the process through which children learn mathematics. A developed number sense lays the basis for children to solve real-life problems. When children have good number sense they are able to use flexible strategies according to the context. At the primary level, activities need to be planned which can support the development of number sense and a good understanding of number relationships.
Below we explore some such activities designed with this perspective. They have been tried out in the class and have evolved through that process in the last twenty years. We look forward to your feedback to take this further and make learning an enjoyable process for our children.
